Brook Barnes James was founded in 1985 and has enjoyed continual and steady growth. The Practice undertakes commissions of all sizes for a broad range of clients throughout the United Kingdom and is currently responsible for over £100 million of Construction Work.

Services provided include Quantity Surveying, Planning Supervision, Project Management, Cost Management, Value Engineering, Risk Analysis and Property Taxation Advice.

Continuing investment in staff training, information and communication systems ensures fast and flexible responses to the changing and developing needs of the Construction Industry.

The Practice maintains a defined Quality Assurance process for both Quantity Surveying and Project Management, and has Third Party Accreditation of its systems with CQA meeting the requirements of BS EN 9001.

The Team structure, including weekly Team meetings and Team Leaders Meetings, ensures that work undertaken is managed in a coherent, methodical manner, with a clear communication path from junior surveyor to Partner.

Brook Barnes James has a fully networked computer system and maintains a range of software from Microsoft Office, Lotus Smart Suite and Microsoft Project to specialist Bills of Quantities programmes. Brook Barnes James are subscribers to BCIS On-Line and RIBA Technical Library Services. The practice also has CAD to further enhance its ability to rapidly transmit, receive and process data.

Brook Barnes James can provide bespoke computer solutions to a range of requirements, from spreadsheets presenting tailored cost reports and analyses to databases offering streamlined management of Directs Ordering and invoice processing.
